The History of Woodland Park ~ The area now known as Woodland Park was inhabited by the Ute Indians for thousands of years. In 1872, a wagon route was blasted through the rocks for access to the land and settlers came in earnest to began to develop the land. After the Midland Railway was complete in 1887, further growth and development came. On December 1, 1890, the town was incorporated.
Because of the natural beauty, the community encompassing Woodland Park real estate became a resort town.
